1、优秀青年人才(副教授/助理教授):

年龄不超过40周岁,具有海外知名大学博士学位,或具有国内博士学位在海外工作3年以上,在化学相关领域取得一定成绩或具有发展潜力的海内外优秀青年人才;或在化学相关领域具有一定学术影响力的国内外优秀青年才俊。


2、优秀博士后人才:

原则上获得博士学位不超过3年;年龄35周岁以下;具有较高的学术水平和科研能力。

差旅与住宿



受邀参加线下论坛的嘉宾,化学系将统一安排来校访问的食宿。

嘉宾请自行预定车票(高铁二等座)或机票(经济舱),化学系将报销受邀参与论坛的学者往返差旅费用(限经济舱,国内人员每人上限5000元,国外人员每人上限12000元)。

引进人才待遇



1、支持措施

科研启动经费:深圳市政府和南方科技大学可在5年内为优秀青年人才提供有竞争力的经费支持。

办公条件:提供人均约150平米的实验与办公空间。

团队基础支撑:南方科技大学为新引进优秀青年人才持续每年提供研究生招生指标和不限额博士后招收名额。引进人才可自行招收研究序列教师、研究学者和科研教学助理等。


2、薪酬待遇

薪酬收入:提供具有全球竞争力的薪酬;符合条件者还可享受个人所得税优惠政策,即符合申请条件的高端人才、紧缺人才在深圳市已缴纳的个人所得税超过其按应纳税所得额的15%部分,将由深圳市给予财政补贴,该补贴免征个人所得税。

保险等福利:学校按照深圳市最高标准购买五险一金,并提供商业补充医疗保险与高端医疗保险。

个人补贴:根据国家、省、市人才计划相关政策,学校将协助申请相应人才项目,如成功入选可按规定享有项目资助/补贴。


3、 生活待遇

住房待遇:视校内房源情况提供教师公寓或发放相应住房补贴。

生活配套:学校可协助办理人才及配偶、子女深圳户口或来华居留许可,协助解决子女入学。

南方科技大学化学系简介


南科大化学系成立于2011年,为学校最早设立的五个系之一。秉承“敢闯敢试、求真务实、改革创新、追求卓越”的南科精神,经过十余载耕耘,化学系建设已逐步迈入正轨。2016年入选广东省攀峰重点学科;2017年取得化学硕士点;2018年首次进入ESI化学学科全球排名1%;2021年获批化学一级学科博士点,并入选广东省一流本科专业建设名单;2022年入选国家一流本科专业建设名单;2023年获批国家化学一级学科博士后流动站;2024年获批广东省催化化学基础学科研究中心(广东省首批,化学学科唯一入选单位)。目前,化学学科已进入ESI全球前0.9‰行列,自然指数(Nature Index)化学学科世界机构排名第19位(内地第16位),泰晤士中国最好学科连续三年(2022-2024)入选A+学科。


南科大化学系已吸引了一批具有国际化背景的海内外高尖端人才加盟,已初步建成了以院士团队领军,科研活跃和发展势头强劲的教授、副教授为中坚力量,年轻助理教授为前锋的一支国际化高水平的师资队伍。其中教学研究序列教师(独立PI)51人,包括讲席教授16名、教授10名、副教授23名、助理教授2名,拥有在海外大学或研究所的研究和任职经历教师占比96%,45岁以下教师占比62%,入选国家人才项目的教师占比88%。此外,化学系还有研究序列教师31人、在站博士后60余名,为本学科自主创新提供有力的人才支撑。


化学系着力探索及解决重大前沿科学问题,研究方向涵盖无机化学、有机化学、物理化学、计算化学、分析化学、化学生物学、高分子化学等多个领域。学科以“新医药、新能源、新材料”的创制为目标,服务国家及粤港澳大湾区战略发展。目前已独立承担国家级、省部级及地方级的科研项目510余项(含国家自然科学基金项目210余项),已获批竞争性科研经费超过6.5亿元。化学系专职教师以南科大为依托单位、以第一或通讯作者身份发表SCI论文2100余篇,其中在顶级期刊 Science、Nature、Nature Chemistry、Nature Catalysis、Nature Energy, Nature Synthesis、Journal of the American Chemical Society、Angewandte Chemie等影响因子超过10的期刊上发表论文670余篇,包括顶级学术期刊 Science 8篇、Nature 3篇;部分研究成果被国家自然科学基金委、Nature、Science、Nat. Chem.等网站和期刊重点推荐或亮点报道。此外,学科积极推进平台建设,获批“广东省催化化学基础学科研究中心”、“广东省催化化学重点实验室”、“广东省普通高校稀土化学重点实验室”、“广东省蛋白质组分析与测序工程技术研究中心”、“深圳市小分子药物发现与合成重点实验室”、“深圳市能源化学重点实验室”等省、市基础研究平台12个;同时,学校依托化学系还设立了先进光源科学中心、深圳格拉布斯研究院、新材料重大科技设施研究院、光明高研院等新型研发机构。这些高水平研究平台及研发机构为化学系学科建设提供了重要的基础与实施保障。

2025 SUSTech Global Young Chemistry Scholars Forum

January 2025

Shenzhen, P.R.China 


1. About the Forum

As a crucial part of the faculty recruitment process, the Global Young Chemistry Scholars Forum, hosted by the Department of Chemistry of Southern University of Science and Technology (SUSTech), aims to provide an academic exchange platform for outstanding young chemistry scholars at home and abroad to share their research results and discuss the hot spots of chemistry together. Through the Forum, we expect to attract more talented and potential researchers to join SUSTech and collectively contribute to building our chemistry discipline into a world-class distinctive discipline. We are delighted to announce and invite outstanding young academic talents worldwide to apply for the Forum and look forward to your participation!


2. Schedule

The Forum will be held in mixed mode, onsite and online, with the following specific arrangements.

(1) Onsite: provisionally at SUSTech campus, for guests attending in person

(2) Online: via online meeting platform, for overseas remote guests

The Forum will be held in January 2025 (the specific time will be subject to the invitation letter). 


3. Recruitment Requirements

(1) Outstanding Young Talent (Associate/Assistant Professor):

Under the age of 40. Have obtained a Ph.D. degree from a reputable overseas university or institute, or have worked full-time abroad for over 3 years with a Ph.D. degree from a domestic university. Have made certain achievement or have high potential or have certain academic influence in chemistry-related fields.


(2) Outstanding Post-doctoral Talent:

In principle, have obtained a Ph.D. degree not over 3 years, under the age of 35 and with a high academic level and strong research capability.

Failure to receive an invitation letter after this date indicates that all positions for the Forum have been filled.

6. Travel and Accommodation

Free accommodation will be provided to all invited guests. All invited guests are kindly requested to make their own reservations for train tickets (second-class seats on high-speed trains) or air tickets (economy class). SUSTech Department of Chemistry will reimburse the round-trip travel expenses for guests invited to attend the onsite Forum, with restrictions to economy class and a maximum limit of RMB 5,000 per person for domestic travelers and RMB 12,000 per person for international travelers.


7. Benefits

(1) Funding, Office Space Allocation and Research Team

l  Start-up Funding: The Shenzhen local government and SUSTech are able to provide competitive start-up funds for outstanding young talents within a span of five years.

l  Office Space Allocation: 150 square meters of combined experimental and office space per capita is available.

l  Research Team: Outstanding young talents will be annually granted quotas for post-graduate enrollment and unlimited quota for postdoctoral recruitment. Additionally, certain faculty members are free to recruit additional research assistant professors (RAPs), research scholars and research assistants.


(2) Salary, Insurance and Subsidy

l  Salary: Globally competitive salary. Preferential policy of individual income tax for qualified candidates; to be specific, the Shenzhen local government will compensate the individual income tax paid in excess of 15% of the taxable income for qualified high-level talents.

l  Insurance: Endowment insurance, medical insurance, unemployment insurance, work-related injury insurance, maternity insurance and housing provident fund will be paid according to the highest standards in Shenzhen. Supplementary commercial insurance as well as high-end medical insurance are negotiable.

l  Subsidy: SUSTech will assist in applying for the corresponding talent programs according to the national, provincial and municipal talent policies. Qualified candidates will receive the relevant program funds or subsidies.


(3)  Other Benefits

l  Housing: On-campus staff residential apartments or subsidies to support off-campus rental housing.

l  Others: Permanent residence or resident visa service for staff and family (spouse and children); children’s schooling (SUSTech affiliated preschool, primary school and middle school).

About SUSTech Department of Chemistry

SUSTech Department of Chemistry, established in 2011, is one of the first five departments of SUSTech. Adhering to the spirit of “Venture, Pragmatism, Innovation and Excellence”, the Department has undergone a remarkable transformation, advancing at an accelerated pace. In 2016, SUSTech chemistry has been recognized as Guangdong provincial key discipline. In 2017, master’s degree program was approved. In 2018, SUSTech chemistry ranked among the top 1% of ESI globally. In 2021, doctoral degree program was approved, and SUSTech chemistry made it to the List of Guangdong First-class Undergraduate Major Construction the same year. In 2022, SUSTech chemistry was selected into the List of National First-class Undergraduate Major Construction. In 2023, chemistry postdoctoral mobile station was granted. In 2024, Guangdong Research Centre for Basic Discipline of Catalytic Chemistry was approved (the first batch in Guangdong province). At present, SUSTech chemistry has entered the top 0.9 ‰ of ESI globally, ranked 19th (16th in P.R.China) by the Nature Index and has been recognized as an A+ discipline by the Times China Subject Ratings for three consecutive years (2022-2024).


SUSTech Department of Chemistry has built an international high-level faculty team led by distinguished academicians, outstanding professors and associate professors, and young assistant professors with high potentials. The Department comprises 51 principal investigators (PIs), including 16 chair professors, 10 professors, 23 associate professors and 2 assistant professors. Notably, 96% of faculty have research and work experience in overseas universities or research institutes, 62% of faculty are under the age of 45, and 88% of faculty have obtained national talent programs. In addition, the Department has 31 research teachers and more than 60 postdoctoral fellows.


SUSTech Department of Chemistry is dedicated to exploring and solving cutting-edge major scientific issues and concentrate in several chemistry-related fields, including inorganic chemistry, organic chemistry, physical chemistry, computational chemistry, analytical chemistry, chemical biology and polymer chemistry. The Department serves the goal of the creation of “New Medicine, New Energy, New Materials” and has been contributing to the strategic development of the country and the Greater Bay Area. The Department has undertaken over 510 national, provincial and local research programs (including over 210 programs funded by the National Natural Science Foundation of China) and has received more than 650 million competitive research funds. The faculty team has published more than 2,100 SCI papers as first or corresponding author, and more than 670 papers were published in top academic journals with over 10 impact factors, such as Science, Nature, Nature Chemistry, Nature Catalysis, Nature Energy, Nature Synthesis, Journal of the American Chemical Society, Angewandte Chemie; among them, there are 8 papers on Science and 3 papers on Nature. Some of the research results were highly recommended or widely reported by the National Natural Science Foundation of China and top academic journals like Science, Nature, Nature Chemistry


Furthermore, the Department has been active in promoting the establishment of research platforms. 12 provincial or municipal basic research platforms have been approved, including Guangdong Research Center of Catalytic Chemistry, Guangdong Key Laboratory of Catalytic Chemistry, Guangdong Key Laboratory of Rare Earth Chemistry, Guangdong Proteome Analysis and Sequencing Engineering Technology Research Center, Shenzhen Key Laboratory of Small Molecule Drug Discovery and Synthesis, and Shenzhen Key Laboratory of Energy Chemistry. Concurrently, several new R&D institutes have been founded under the name of SUSTech, including Advanced Light Source Science Center, Shenzhen Grubbs Institutions, Institute of New Materials and Important Scientific and Technological Facilities, and Guangming Advanced Research Institute. These high-standard research platforms and R&D institutions has helped secure the discipline construction of the Department.


With the backing of the country and an exceptional faculty team, SUSTech Department of Chemistry remains committed to the pursuit of establishing an international, high-standard, world-class chemistry discipline, while actively contributing to the strategic development of the country.
